Frets done, let the carving begin. I am amazed at the progress my dad is making out of the shop. Cannot wait to get out there this weekend and get some hardware going into these!

Dimly lit jazz bar, two incredible guitarists = great Sunday evening.
Caught a rad set at 55 Bar tonight. Adam Levy and Jim Campilongo playing standards, Beatles, originals… Need to stay for a couple more next time around!
Cocobolo, Wenge, Maple. I think my dad made the Cocobolo on the 25” scale to torture me…
This is starting to get serious, huh? What did we get ourselves into…
via the Hemet shop… truss rod jig: complete. fingerboard slotting beginning this week… cannot wait to get out to the shop in a couple weeks and start hardware.
Marc Ribot / Silent Movies
Picked this up finally… great record from @marcribotmusic . Haunting melodies, thoughtful textures, great use of dynamics and all around impressive phrasing/playing. Why hasn’t someone put this together with film shorts? Or have they?

On a roll now… my dad is cranking out at the Ferrante Guitars shop. 7 fingerboards cut yesterday. From L to R… Cocobolo, 2 Wenge, 4 Maple boards… unbelievable grain patterns on each, and rumor has it there is a sap marked piece of Cocobolo on hold for my first custom build.
Bill Frisell: East/West
I’ve been borderline obsessed with this album all over again. Always seem to come back to Frisell and his take on classic melodies and arrangements. I guess the next move is to finally pick up his duets record with Jim Hall. to be continued…

One more… my first build, the pine t-style “Kelly Jean” has its Mary Kaye finish and satin lacquer completed and is hanging as we speak… time to start ordering the hardware.
Updates: I got a few pictorial updates this weekend out of the Ferrante Guitars workshop. The first 5 maple neck blanks are cut and ready for carving… 8 were chosen, 5 survived the routing. Three 25” scale and two 25 1/2” scale.
