Late submission for #fuzzfriday, a killer Fuzz Face by Caio at @purplenoisefx. Low gain NKT212, great balance and clean up, just enough gain when you dig in to get aggressive without much sag. Board friendly enclosure and LED, with a battery off toggle. This one replaced a couple others in the grab bag, and I’m already on the list for a Silicon build. September Sound Mini Fuzz J Prototype. Violet Rams Head… expanded. Having all the controls right on top makes it easy to visualize as you make changes and go deeper into the range of sounds more quickly. September Sound The 47. Rams Head era circuit, with component values replicating a specific window in Big Muff history. Did not expect elements of a MKI gain in decay and breakup, but they are clearly there. Huge low end, the attack isn’t immediate but the weight is there. Capricious Red Wine by @september_sound . Baseline Russian Muff sounds are incredible, great saturation and gain but maintaining absolutely clarity across chords. I never quite got the hang of stand alone boost circuits, and then these stumbled into the mix and now I have no idea what I was thinking all those years. Absolute game changers in the shape of overall tone and attack, when placed carefully can drive a fuzz into new harmonic ranges, highlight octaves and implied chords and generally make things better. I’ve never had the opportunity to play a vintage Elk Super Fuzz Sustainar… but having now had a run with the @roshi_pedals ELF and @earthquakerdev Hizumitas, I’m not sure I need to. Great builds with slight differences in the focus points… the ELF can feel more powerful with slightly more weight in the low mids and bottom, where the Hizumitas has a great edge to the mids and keeps the low end tidy to help shine in a mix. #fuzzpedalsofinstagram #roshipedals #elksuperfuzzsustainar #boris #wata #bigmuffpedal
